East Gippsland Institute of TAFE is concerned that the cancellation of the Federal government’s ‘Regional Partnerships’ funding program has stalled relocation of TAFE’s Fulham Campus.



VCAL students win state team award

On May 9 East Gippsland TAFE educators, Karen Kitto and Anne Lowe, accompanied the Sale VCAL students to Federation Square in Melbourne to accept the State VCAL Award for Team Achievement Foundation level.
“It was a fantastic day, the students were very excited to be presented with their award by Minister for Education, Bronwyn Pike,” said Anne Lowe.



Fauna survey by Forestech students

Students undertaking the Diploma of Conservation and Land Management through East Gippsland Institute of TAFE, Forestech Campus, recently completed a fauna survey in the Red Bluff/Lake Tyers area. This survey was supported by East Gippsland Coastcare. The results gained will contribute to an ongoing study of an isolated population of vulnerable Long-Nosed Potoroos (Potorous tridactylus).



Updating skills now one step easier

East Gippsland industry and workers now have a dedicated skills headquarters after the Minister for Skills and Workforce Participation, Jacinta Allan, officially opened the East Gippsland Skills Store on Wednesday 19 March.

East Gippsland Institute of TAFE teacher, Anne Eager, was recognised for her valued contribution to the quality of education in the Gippsland Region at an awards ceremony on Thursday 6 March, 2008. The presentation was made at the Gippsland Group of the Australian College of Educators Awards Ceremony, held at Morwell.
