Bachelor of Commerce at Bairnsdale
Duration: Three years full time or six years part-time

The Bachelor of Commerce has been designed in consultation with industry groups and companies to ensure up-to-date business concepts and applications are used throughout the program.

The program provides a broad range of business skills and develops both general and specific capabilities through action learning to meet current and future expectations of employers.

The Bachelor of Commerce program at Bairnsdale is delivered through facilitated workshops. The program incorporates Work Integrated

Learning courses which involve researching local organisations and applying the theory learnt in class to the complexities of today’s business environment.

Work Integrated Learning

In third year, you will undertake an action learning project with a participating organisation, supported by an academic supervisor.

Note: A successful Police Check may be required to participate in the work experience component of various RMIT courses and programs.

Some professional registration bodies require you to complete a successful Police Check.

Prospective students are advised to check with the relevant professional body as to specific requirements.

RMIT is required to notify some professional registration bodies if you attract a positive response to their completed Police Check.

Career Outlook

Past graduates have obtained employment locally, interstate and overseas in a variety of positions including business managers, economic and financial analysts and accountants.

“The fact that the Commerce degree is a generalist business degree, and that it is able to be studied locally, makes it suitable for a large section of the East Gippsland workforce.”
Les Mathieson, CEO, East Gippsland Water

Career prospects for graduates exist in all sectors of business including public and private, small and large enterprises and across the full range of industries.

A commerce degree can take you wherever you want to go!
