Fees & Charges – Government subsidised courses

There are three types of fees payable by students.  These are Tuition Fees, Incidental Fees and Service Fees.

Fees vary depending on whether students are eligible for a Government Subsidised place or a
Full Fee Paying place; however incidental and service fees (where charged) will remain the same.

Government subsidised places are available to students who:

  1. Are enrolled with a VET provider in a VET course of study, and
  2. For whom the VET provider receives funding from a State or Territory in relation to the student’s enrolment in that VET course of study, and
  3. Who are determined to be subsidised students by the subsidising state or territory

Full Fee paying places are available to students who are enrolled in a VET course of study for which the VET provider does not receive any funding from a State, Territory or the Commonwealth in relation to the student’s enrolment in that VET course of study.

  • Government Subsidised places - tuition fees:
  • Full Fee paying places - tuition fees
  • Incidental fees – Applicable to all students
  • Service fees – A non academic fee that is applicable to all government-funded courses delivered from an EG TAFE campus, in the workplace or through the Flexible Learning Centre

Fee exemptions and concessions for Government subsidised places

Some students in Government subsidised places may be entitled to a concession or exemption on their tuition fees.

Students eligible for a concessional rate include students with a Health Care Card or who are receiving government benefits through Centrelink. The concession rate for each program level is equivalent to the minimum fee rate for that level (except for courses in the Skills Deepening category).

From 1 July, Skills Deepening (Diploma and Advanced Diploma students) will no longer be eligible for a concessional rate. However, Diploma and Advanced Diploma students may be eligible for the new VET FEE-HELP loan scheme to defer fees through the tax system.
Applicants who believe they are eligible for an exemption must complete an Application for Exemption from Eligibility Criteria Form and provide supporting evidence of eligibility before an exemption or concession can be provided. Forms are available from EG TAFE Student Services, need to be completed in conjunction with an EG TAFE staff member and may be submitted to any campus.

Please call 1300 133 717 for more information on concessions and exemptions.

Students who are not eligible for a Government subsidised place will pay full fees, as follows:

Skills Deepening (Full Fee) $10

There are no minimum or maximum fees payable for full fee places.
