Advance TAFE and Deakin University offer dual awards through the ‘Deakin at Your Doorstep’ program. Students study both the Associate Degree of Arts, Business and Science and a diploma in one of these areas:
- Accounting
- Business
- Business Administration

- Community Services
- Community Services (Alcohol, other drugs and mental health)
- Conservation and Land Management
- Disability
- Employment Services (RPL only)
- Graphic Design
- Human Resources Management (off-campus only)

The program is based in Bairnsdale and is delivered on-campus with videoconferencing to lecturers and students in other sites, with tutor support.
Graduates of these courses will receive two qualifications, a Diploma in their area of study, and an Associate Degree, which would deliver up to 18 months credit towards, and a guaranteed place in, a three-year degree in their area of study at Deakin University. The Bachelor of Business (University of Ballarat) is offered at Advance TAFE’s Sale Campus at 2 Desailly Street. Local tutors lead the study program and provide individual support in small classes, which run over two days of the week , making it ideal for those balancing work and other commitments. This broad-based degree includes units in entrepreneurship, marketing, tourism, economics, accounting, human resources and management. Graduates will be well prepared for a range of management and senior roles in highly competitive businesses and organisations of all sizes. The degree can be studied either full-time (12 hours per week) or part-time (six hours per week).
After successfully completing the first year of the degree, those students wanting to specialise further in accounting can transfer to the University of Ballarat’s Mt Helen Campus, with guaranteed entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). Graduates of the Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) have the opportunity to apply for further studies at Honours and Masters level at the University of Ballarat or other universities. |
